Lastest Updated: March 18, 2024. We will soon be releasing our first round of nucs. Any orders after March 18th may not make the March delivery schedule and be on the April delivery. We do not have a firm date in April yet but anticipate by the second week at this time.

Bee Friends Farm Tip: Protect Yourself When Buying Bees

We strongly recommend purchasing bees from reputable suppliers who are well-known in the beekeeping community. Unfortunately, there have been instances of scammers targeting new beekeepers on social media. To ensure you're getting healthy, quality bees, your best bet is to reach out to your local beekeeping association and ask for trusted references. Feel free to stop in our store anytime for questions or to purchase bees and supplies.

Option 1: Nuc in a Box

Start your beekeeping season right with our "Nuc in a Box."
Each box is equipped with a 5-Frame Nucleus Hive, including two to three brood frames, one food frame, one frame in progress, and a mated queen, all snug in a durable Plastic Jester NUC box for easy transport and transfer.
Earn a $10 Credit per Nuc: When you return the empty Plastic Jester NUC box to us, or bring an empty, usable Nuc box at the time of pickup you will receive a $10 credit per Nuc box. This initiative supports our commitment to sustainability by encouraging recycling and reuse.

Option 2: Complete Starter Hive with Bees

Dive into beekeeping bliss with a Nuc pre-installed in a starter hive.
Our hives are pre-painted and primed.
Simply pickup, place in your yard, and watch your bee adventure take flight.

Option 3: Deluxe Starter Hive with Medium Super and Bees

Elevate your beekeeping game with a Nuc in a starter hive plus an additional medium super.
Your hive will have room to grow.

Option 4: Two Deluxe Hives with Discount

Start strong with two Nucs pre-installed in starter hives plus an additional medium super for each.
Enjoy a discount for getting two hives right from the start.
These hives are ready for action in your beekeeping journey.

Important Note:
To ensure the health and growth of your colony, transfer your Nuc into a full-sized hive as soon as it arrives at your bee yard.

FAQs

Hive Options: Choose between an 8-frame or 10-frame hive for options 3, 4, or 5.
Included Equipment: Options 3, 4, and 5 include a bottom board and a metal-topped inner and outer cover.
Optional Accessories: Queen excluders are not included but can be purchased separately here.
Pickup Only: Nucleus hives cannot be shipped and must be picked up in person.

Preorder Details

Availability: Preorder your Nuc for 2025 today!
Pickup Schedule: Nucs will be available for pickup starting in March. Earlier orders will receive priority scheduling.
Hive Inspection: During pickup, you'll have the opportunity to inspect your Nuc and meet the queen in person.

Checkout Selection: Be sure to select PICKUP during checkout; otherwise, the system will show an error.
Non-Refundable: Nuc purchases are final, but we're here to support your beekeeping journey every step of the way.

Preparing for Your Nuc

Before bringing your Nuc home:

Ensure your bee yard and hive stand are ready.
If you're purchasing equipment from us, paint your boxes with light-colored exterior paint to create a bee-friendly environment.

With these preparations, you'll be set for a successful and sweet start to your beekeeping adventure!
